Day 22 - Shopping in Dubrovnik

So, I know I am behind again on the pictures. It's been a crazy week. With Bethany getting here on Tuesday, I haven't spent a lot of time in the classroom so I haven't been able to upload any pictures. I swear, I will get to it ASAP because I think we'll be doing more traveling this weekend. :)

Anyway...yesterday I had class as always and I have never been so tired. I actually went up to my room during one of the breaks and took a 15 minute nap which energized me for the rest of the day. After class I had lunch and headed into Dubrovnik with Karrie to meet Bethany. We met around 3pm (9am Indiana time) and did some serious shopping! And once I got started, I couldn't stop. At least things are pretty reasonably priced at the local shops.

The first store we went in, I bought a pair of shoes and a bracelet. Then I bought a couple of necklaces, some postcards and a purse. I also got a souvenier for my mom that I hope she'll like. I have a few ideas for some other souveniers for some other people, so I'll probably pick those up near the end of my trip.

After shopping we stopped and had a few drinks and an appetizer at the Irish pub from our first night in Dubrovnik. Then we walked Karrie back to the taxis because she wanted to head home. She even offered to take our purchases back to the hotel for us. :) We wandered around for a while and did a little more shopping, then we headed to dinner.

We ate dinner at Oliva a really good air-conditioned pizza/pasta restaurant. I had gotten a lot of recommendations from other people in the program about this place, so we figured we'd give it a try. The pasta we had was really tasty. We also met up with some people from my group: Allysyn, Anna, Ruth and Alex, and had dinner with them.

After dinner, all of us headed to Fresh (the same bar I went to on Friday night). We planned to meet our group there because Ruth was leaving the next day to fly home, due to a family situation. Ruth is really sweet, so I wanted to make sure we were there for a while. I was able to introduce Bethany to almost everyone in the group. As I predicted, she got along with everyone right away.

Bethany and I headed back to the hotel with Kyle and Parvonay (another IU student) around 11:15pm (5:15pm Indiana time) and Kyle wanted us to hang out for a while longer. We decided to be responsible and go to bed because I was still pretty tired and she had to get up early for a trip to Montenegro.
