Day 15 - Little tipsy

So...today was pretty normal here. I had class, like always. Then I went to the beach for about 2 hours. If I stay in the water I don't feel as hot and I figure I'm getting exercise once I get far enough out that I'm not touching the bottom. My sunburn has faded into a tan and it doesn't look like it got worse, so I think I'm in pretty good shape, as long as I keep up the SPF 55, anyway.

After the beach, we had a speaker come and tell us about how the war and trying to get into the EU has affected the Croatian economy. I found it hard to pay attention, but apparently the guy who spoke to us is like the Bill Gates of Croatia, so it was a pretty big deal.

After dinner a group of about 10 of us went to dinner at the hotel pizza place. I swear, I don't have pizza every time I go there, but I am getting a little sick of it anyway. This time, I split a bottle of wine with a few people, so I'm feeling very relaxed and I really couldn't have cared less how the pizza tasted. There was a stray cat nearby on the patio where we were eating, so I kept throwing little pieces of pizza to him from the table. He reminded me of my kitty. He had the same coloring and was a little beggar.

I really miss my kitty and, of course, the other people and some of the things that home has to offer...like ranch dressing, you can't find it here. And Chinese food. Some of the places here serve hamburgers, I may have to try one of those soon, but I don't think it will compare to one of my dad's. Oh well. I guess I can't live here forever. ;) I did find out there is a Mexican restaurant in the Old Town that a few people went to tonight. Hopefully they'll like it and I can try it sometime soon for a little variety. Alright...off to read for class tomorrow.
